Independent quality label for more sustainable florists
With the independent quality label Sustainable Florist, florists show that they operate in a sustainable way. They do this by adopting more sustainable business practices and purchasing a sustainable assortment of flowers and plants, such as organic, MPS-A+, and On the way to PlanetProof.
The requirements for the Barometer Sustainable Florist were established in cooperation with parties such as florists, growers, flower auctions, wholesalers, environmental organizations, NGOs, and research agencies.
The quality label was developed and is managed by SMK. The Dutch Barometer Duurzame Bloemist and the Deutsch Nachhaltiger Florist are the international versions of the Sustainable Florist.
Bronze, silver, or gold
Depending on the flowers and plants purchased and the number of points the florist achieves, the company receives a certificate at the bronze, silver, or gold level. These points can be obtained on various themes, such as an even more sustainable assortment of flowers, packaging, sustainable energy and savings, environmentally friendly cleaning, care for employees, and more sustainable transport and delivery.
